ModernGear Fashion: Giddyup into fall

A tip of the cowboy hat goes to the grandfather of the snap-button cowboy shirt - a man named Jack Weil - who passed away last week at age 107. Mr. Weil, known as Papa Jack to his family and customers, started his company Rockmount Ranch Wear in 1946 in Denver. He was thought to be the oldest CEO in the world, as he stayed at the helm of the company until just a few days before his death.

Dennis Quaid in Flesh & Bone, and other movies. Celebrity fans included Elvis Presley, Clark Gable, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks, Matthew McConaughey, and more.

The shirts were loved by cowboys and cowgirls, and by people who wanted to be like cowboys and cowgirls. Papa Jack was a man who was passionate about his work, and his product. How fitting, then, that Western-influenced shirts and going mad for plaid seem to be all the rage for fall! A true tribute to the man who outfitted so many.

Iheartthat.com tells us that this one, worn by Lauren Conrad, is by Elizabeth & James, $245, at intermixonline.com, but it's sold out.
