Goodbye to 2008

One last wordle for the year.

I don't have a huge post for today - I have a veritable ton of products to try and review, videos to edit and post, recipes to make and share...but today I am really just thinking and reminiscing about 2008, and so want to leave with some simple thoughts.

We are incredibly lucky. Chances are, if you are reading this, your house is not being bombed right now. Your family is not starving. Hope shines bright in your future.

Times are tough, but it could be so much worse.

For me, 2008 has been a year of incredible highs and breathtaking lows - of life and death, of opportunity and growth, and love and loss, but I leave it guided by the light of hope. That sounds overly poetic to possibly be true, but it's how I live my life. I have to. In this sense, I am afraid of the dark - which is hopelessness, thanklessness, despair.

I am drawn by hope like a moth to a flame. I have a lot of hopes for this next year, and I am ready to work hard. Thank you for supporting me by coming to visit me in my little corner of this vast world wide web. Please come back - there's so much more to tell you.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful New Year.

Tamara, you are absolutely right - despite all of the negative news, there is stil so much to be thankful for if you find yourself living in the US or Canada, with a roof over your head and a job. Have a blessed 2009.
