I LOVE fall fashion. It might just be my favourite season, for this is the time of year when I start daydreaming about cooler weather and just want to pull on a cozy sweater. I'm all about the sweater, and less about the sweat. Seriously, as a Canadian girl living in Southern California, you'd think I'd want to soak up all the heat I can - I know it has started raining in Vancouver already. But what I really wish for is to actually need to put on something soft and cozy - merino or cashmere would be nice.
I know that not many of you would wish to join me in the FAN OF SWEATER category this early into autumn, but there's a solution - something that can make us both happy. How about a vest? I like to think of the vest as a sweater without making the commitment to cooler weather. You can wear a short or long-sleeved tee underneath, or even a blouse. Long, cozy and sometimes cabled are the iterations in stores for fall. Here are my favourites...

It's not so cool to get prematurely hot and bothered in your sweater but a vest offers automatic climate control in a garment, and they're not only fashionable, but comfortable too...perfect for those days when the weather plays the hot and cold game with you.
