American humorist Erma Bombeck once posed the question, "Did you ever notice that the first piece of luggage on the carousel never belongs on anyone?" That sure seems true, but I know what the problem is, after a weekend of travel. It's just that everyone carries a black bag!
Sure, they look cool - less wear and tear, scuffs and markings of use and abuse, but unless you're smart enough to heed Mom's advice with a colourful piece of tape or ribbon to identify your bag, you're pretty likely to take someone else's nearly-identical bag and have be carried away by someone else as well.
A fun and easy solution is to mark your property with baggage tags, and there are a few great ones out there...here are a few of my favourites.
Flight 001 has funny "THAT'S MINE!" tags that are stain and tear-resistant made out of recyclable Tyvek - $12 for a set of 10.
I also like their Airmail luggage tags, also $12 for 10:
And I'm also a sucker for anything with stripes, like this oilcloth luggage tag for $9.
Pamela Barsky's shop also has some funny tags - "nothing worth stealing in here" and "I'm pretty sure this isn't your bag" will give you, baggage handlers and road-weary fellow travelers a little something to smile at. $12 for 6.
She also has other, more colourful tags and floral ones too, for the same price.
Her new metallic luggage tags are a wee bit more ($14) but would make a great gift for the traveler in your life:
And the honeymoon series would be perfect as a cute wedding gift, for $12.
